The second son of Thomas Wrightson of Dinsdale, most of his early portion of his life was passed on his father's beautiful Tee-side estate: Upon his marriage to Miss Garmondsway he received the White House farm and settled there.

He preferred country life, although he had been educated to some extent with a view to the medical profession.  He died before his father at an early age.  His widow survived him by 30 years at her House Newton Grange at Sadberg.
