(BATTIE-)WRIGHTSON OF CUSWORTH 

Although this important County Family resides near Don-
caster, yet it, as well as ours, holds considerable property in the
parish of Hurworth-on- Tees. Hence it is desirable to give so
much of their pedigree as may prevent the confusion of names
while examining old local documents. I have never attempted
to trace back this pedigree, and what I give is compiled in part
from published works, and in part from information supplied to
me by Mr. Battie-Wrightson in letters and in conversation
when I was at Cusworth on 8th October 1893.
