- Parents of Sarah : Thomas Beaumont & Elizabeth Armytage
- According to the pedigree of Beaumont in Whitaker's Leeds, it was Sir
Thomas Beaumont (son of Richard Beaumont, of Lascelles Hall), who married
Elizabeth Armytage as his first wife and succeeded his cousin, Sir Richard
Beaumont, of Whitley Beaumont, in 1631. He was on the Royalist side in the
civil wars, and governor of Sheffield Castle, dying in 1668. His wife was
daughter of Gregory Armytage, of Netherton, by Elizabeth, daughter and
co-heiress of John Savile, of the same place. They were married at Hartshead,
6 Sept., 1626.
